Ben Vrackie Walk for Malawi

The Pitlochry Church of Scotland has undertaken to raise £2500 to help the villages of Mutubu and Ifumbo in Malawi which have no source of clean water at present. Water from rivers and streams is often not safe to drink and, in the dry season, women have to walk several kilometres to draw water.
Pitlochry Church of Scotland is raising money for a water bore hole which should greatly improve the health and quality of the villagers. Water will be pumped from a source deep underground which will provide a reliable clean supply.
A sponsored walk up Ben Vrackie took place on Sunday 19 August 2007 to raise funds for the project.
A good number of Hill Walkers made the climb successfully in perfect weather conditions and have helped to raise the total amount to nearly £1800 with more money still to come in.
