Pitlochry Civic Trust AGM

At the recent Annual meeting of Pitlochry Civic Trust, the new Conservation Area established in Pitlochry in August 2007 was a major topic of interest. Members hope that this will help to maintain the environment and character of Pitlochry, one of the Trust’s main objectives.
A map showing the boundaries of the area is available in the local Council Office and Library. It is hoped that there will be a public meeting in November to explain the implications to local residents.

Mrs Marista Leishman, Convener, presented the Annual Report from the executive committee, and Mr. Gordon Dilworth presented the Annual Accounts. Retiring members of the Executive, Dr Jean Scott, Mrs Anne Wilson and Mr Sandy Wilson were warmly thanked for their significant contributions to the work of the Trust over the past six years, and Mr Peter Shackley was elected to the Eexecutive.

Guest Speaker
The guest speaker was Mrs Jean Gowans, President of the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland, who spoke about the work of the Society since its foundation 50 years ago.
Further information about the Trust is available from the Honorary Secretary, Gordon Pont, telephone 01796 472745.
