Car Boot For Cancer Success

Maureen Gartshore offers thanks to all who helped her out with the Car Boot Sale on the Ballinluig Football Pitch at the Ghillies’ Day in August.

Her special thanks go to her husband Graeme; to Rosie and Jeff Power, Gordon McBain, Gavin Dickson for the use of his van, and all the other kind people who emptied their cupboards – constantly filling her car - and donated something for the event.

Despite the weather (it rained steadily every minute of the day) the amazing sum of £450 for Macmillan Cancer Support was raised. The Blair Atholl Distillery, Pitlochry, has very generously matched half the sum raised that Saturday making a grand total of £675.

On the day Gordon McBain won a gallon bottle of whisky which was re-raffled in Aberfeldy by the Palace Hotel and the Fountain Inn. The £270 raised from that was divided between Heartland FM and Macmillan Cancer Support.

“I also take this opportunity to give my personal thanks to the Perth Royal Infirmary Haematology Department, family and friends for all the support they have given me over the last two years,” said Maureen, pictured above in terh yelow jacket at the Ghillies' Day in Ballinluig.
